Synopsis
I was arrogant, pushy, controlling, and I was fine with that. What I couldn’t control were my dreams. Memories haunted me there.

Even after over a decade, I found I couldn’t outrun them. Returning to the place they lived only seemed to trigger a landslide. I couldn’t focus, couldn’t sleep. Some people drank a warm cup of milk, cuddled up with a book, or threw back a couple shots.

Me? I fucked my way to sleep. Every single night, I lost myself in pussy. For a long time, it was the only way I knew to get to sleep. But it was getting less and less effective. I slept shorter periods of time before the dreams started.

There was only one hope for my insomnia, and she was sexy, intelligent, and unexpected. I wanted to exhaust myself in her sexy little body and let her soothe me to sleep.

The only problem … she was my therapist, and I’d have to break her code of conduct and totally corrupt her before I made her mine.

Michelle’s Review
Xander Pierce former actor now turned producer, he can’t sleep!  The only way he can get to sleep is screwing anything that crosses his path.  What is causing his insomnia, something from his past (isn’t that always the case?).  Of course, during one of his “hook-ups”, Gabriella (remember this name, just saying) gives him the name of a psycho-therapist that he should see.

So one day after a run, he remembers from the card that Gabriella gives to him and walks right into the office of Dr. Avery Shaw.  He just wants some meds to get sleep, little did he know that Dr. Shaw was going to put a certain member of his anatomy (ahem) to full attention.

Dr. Avery Shaw is a little shocked when Xander enters her office without an appointment and the instant attraction that hits her.  Foul mouth Xander wants some meds without even sitting down and discussing his issues with Dr. Shaw.  Dr. Shaw shows him the door and asks him to make an appointment like everyone else.  After he leaves, Avery cannot believe the sexual chemistry she is feeling towards Xander.

Avery has had a rough life; she lost her parents to a tragic accident and was put in foster care.  In foster care, she meets who is now her roommate Ellie.  She is putting Ellie through college, but she senses something is going on with Ellie and she cannot put her finger on it.

After a few sessions with Xander and his dirty mouth, Avery is too attracted to Xander, after discussing her issue with her partner (who happens to be her ex-boyfriend), he tells her, to give Xander a shot. Avery is trying to delve into why Xander is having problems sleeping. He is afraid to open up about his past because, he is truly afraid that once Avery finds out, she will leave for good.  What was interesting though is when Avery meet Xander’s mother.  Talk about the past coming at you. It so happens that Xander’s mother knows Avery and she was the one to help Avery into a good foster home.  Avery had always wondered why she helped her.  We do not find out in this book the why.

This was a quick read and did not disappoint.  Of course, there is a cliffy.  Although I did not get any answers as to what exactly Xander is hiding and why his mother had helped Avery during her childhood.  I guess I will find out in the next installment Underneath It all (Sexual Misconduct II) that is already out.  Hopefully we will find out more especially regarding Avery’s roommate Ellie.
