Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.

It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.

Clash (verb): to come together or collide.

I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.

Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.

Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.

He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.

Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.

Michelle's Review

Having read the previous Legal Affairs book (Matt and Mac’s story), I already knew who Cal and Macy were so I was really excited when I heard Ms. Bennett was going to write their story. If you’ve read the previous Legal Affairs series, you already should know that Matt and Cal were best friends. You also should know that Mac and Cal have created their own law firm and Matt has come to terms with Cal sought of speak.

Cal wants what Mac and Matt have in a relationship. He’s ready for the wife, 2.5 kids, home, etc. Yet he cannot seem to find “the one”. Macy is Mac’s BFF, event planner extraordinaire, but super rich, but she is harboring some secrets from her past and uses sex to forget the pain. Macy was the one that introduced to the One Night Only dating site, so Macy uses the site all the time.

Oh did you know that Cal and Macy hate each other? The verbal insults these two throw each other is like watching an intense tennis match. You keep waiting to is going to Ace (pun intended) the next insult. Personally, they are evenly match. Here is an example, Macy to Cal: “Needle dick wouldn’t even know where to put. Besides, I’m pretty sure saints are lousy fucks.” Okay, you just insulted my fucking manhood and that, I can’t let go.

During one of their many heated arguments, they get down and dirty! I mean really dirty. Cal is one kinky mofo as well as Macy. You just know that it was going to be super explosive between these two.

This novella is a very quick read. It gives you enough that you cannot wait for the next installment. Macy gets into some type of trouble and Cal is asked to help her out. I need to know what’s going on with Macy and why she uses sex to get over whatever past pain she is going through. I need the next installment!

Thank you Sawyer for bringing this fun group back. I cannot wait to continue the ride.

Yet, the sexual tensions between these two, holy hell!
