**AUTHORS’ NOTE**
It’s possible to only read the Calloway Sisters spin-off series without reading the Addicted series, but you MUST read Hothouse Flower (Calloway Sisters #2) before reading Fuel the Fire (Calloway Sisters #3).

It’s highly recommended to read the books in the recommended reading order, which is in tangent with the Addicted series. If you choose not to read Addicted After All before Fuel the Fire, there will be a time jump.

Fuel the Fire picks up in the Addicted Timeline where Addicted After All ended. FTF will not retell past events from Addicted After All in Rose & Connor’s POV. All new material.

Grace Review
There’s a reason why I drop my current read and alter my TBR schedule when these two authors release a new book. They always seems to evoke emotions in my that very few authors are able to do. With each addition to the Addicted and Calloway series’, I feel that much closer to this group of six. I wish all their dreams come true, and for all their fears and threats to go away.

I never realized how bored I had been with life.  How mundane my surroundings looked.  How unchallenged I’d become.
I never realized all of these things.
Until I met her.

Of the three couples, Rose and Conner are the hardest two to grasp because of how much they guard their emotions. Hell, prior to their relationship, neither considered love to be a need or priority in their lives. But together, love and family mean everything. They will do anything to keep those they love safe, even at the expense of their own happiness.

Rose made me realize that love is necessary, even if it’s costly.  Anyway . . . it’d be impossible not to risk my life for Jane and give up everything I value.  I’d do it all.

In Kiss the Sky, we got to see this couple open up to new emotions for the first time. In this story, we get a deeper look into their lives, and the happiness and heartache they felt along the way.

Conner is as arrogant and conceited as ever. But he’s kind of perfect, so can you blame him? Other than being brilliant and being two steps ahead of everyone else, he can morph in to any type of personality to suit those around him. This ability to adjust is an impressive skill, but as Ryke eventually points out, can also be the wrong way to approach a problem. Why adjust to others, when they should adjust to you.

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.  Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” – quote from Shaw’s Maxims for Revolutionists

The man possesses control in nearly everything he does, and that is not more evident than when he and Rose are together intimately. The sex scenes nearly caused my kindle to smoke, while melting my panties. The choking is just one element of dominance he holds over Rose, and shows the extreme connection these two share. While the two normally go toe to toe in all aspect of their lives, Rose allows him the control during these private moments. Despite what the media and fans/critics say, the strength of their relationship is fully exposed. It may not be a typical relationship, which is probably why it was challenged so often, but it’s clear that they are the perfect match.

As for his equal, Rose, she is a complex character to understand. While she does humorous things, they aren’t with the intent of being funny. She’s closed off to most people, coming across as cold and bitchy. But all it takes is for a family member to be hurting or a threat to be leveled at them, and you see her emotional walls come down. She reveals so many new layers about herself in this book that I never knew where there.

Reflecting back on the story after finishing, I noticed something that rarely ever happens. Not once in this book, did Rose or Conner do anything that annoyed me. That is truly a feat, believe me. Although there were moments I challenged their game plan, knowing the reasons behind their actions and their ultimate goals, I couldn’t fault them. They were truly selfless.

“You should never hate the better version of you, the one that loves, the one that hurts – because the man in front of me is extraordinary.”
Her words flood me, choke me, grip me and burn me.

If you read Addicted After All, then you may have already sensed that the subject of sexuality might come up. What was a surprise was that it was a key element to this story and served as a turning point in their ongoing battle with the media. It broke my heart how the news unfolded. Rose screaming into her coat, gutted me. And then you find out who exposed them and I nearly screamed at my kindle. Such an emotional scene. Then there is the scene when she is protecting Jane, her motherly instincts truly kicking in, despite the incredible pain she suffered because of it.

“I know acceptance isn’t easy when you’re unsure of what you’re accepting, but all I can say is that you’re accepting of me.”

While there were moments of conflict within the group of six, it was the toughest moments, when they all put personal feelings aside to help one another. They provide there is strength in numbers, and find a way to out-best their enemies. Vengeance is sweet!

Based on what we learned about Ryke and Daisy, I expect their book, Long Way Down, to be just as emotional as this one.  Since I need to feed my addiction to this group, I CAN’T WAIT!!!
