Book Review: When Dreams Come True by M. Stratton

Title: When Dreams Come True (The Star Series #1)
Author: M. Stratton
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Length: 243 pages
Rating: 4 stars

What would you do if the man of your dreams walked through the door on the most important day of your career?

Melissa ‘Lissa’ Loring was a successful author. She was happy living in her home at the base of the mountains in Tucson with her assistant, Hannah Mills. First the phone call came; they wanted to make one of her books into a movie. Within six months, she was flying out to Los Angeles and talking with the studio about the final script and a list of actors to play the roles. Excited about her lunch meeting, she was shocked when her muse for one of the characters walked in and sat down at the table with her.

Will Martinsson was riding high on his fame and loving every minute of it. He traveled the world meeting his legions of fans and could pick which roles he wanted. When the script was presented to him, he read it and was intrigued. Then he found out that the author had modeled the character after him, so he searched out information on her and his interest was piqued. He told the studio he wanted in, but he also wanted to meet her before he would sign on the dotted line.

When two independent, successful people meet and have a strong connection, there is nothing they can do but see where the dream takes them.

Michelle's Review

When I heard that Michele was writing a Contemporary Romance novel, I knew I had to get it. Michele usually writes romance/suspense/mystery type of novels, so it was a great pleasure to see her write a Contemporary Romance novel. This book showed a different side to her writing, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Don’t get me wrong, I also enjoy her suspenseful ones as well, but having this little gem to read shows me that Michele can write just about any genre. There is some wonderful sexy times, but not to the extreme, lots of it will leave it to your imagination which is wonderful. This book was focused on the main characters and their instant attraction and focuses on the romance and love story unfolding.

Melissa (or Lissa to her friends) Loring is a well renowned suspenseful author (sound familiar lol) and one of her books is being make into a movie. While writing this book, her muse was Will Martinsson, who happens to be an actor who is always casted as the villain that people hate to love. Little did she know that she would be having lunch with her muse. Will is a big fan of her writing and he wants to be casted for the role of the main character from her book.

Let’s just say we needed a hose with these two. The chemistry was so hot between these two. Will is the true BBF you would want. Not only is he good looking, he is also extremely charming and totally swoon worthy. Lissa has lots of quirks which are funny and quite endearing, yet when some of her insecurities come up, Will assures her, he only has eyes for her.

There is a little bit of drama having to deal with the public eye. As much as they are trying to maintain their relationship quiet, it just doesn’t happen with the leeches that is the paparazzi. There is an HEA in the book, but a little of a cliffhanger which really relates to Lissa’s BFF/Assistant Hannah.

You will adore the rest of the secondary character, like Hannah, Beau (Will’s assistant) and Royce a fellow actor and friend of Will’s. That cliffy was a bit of a dozy and I cannot wait to hear what is Hannah and Royce’s back story. These two sound like two tortured souls. This book, although a novel, it is still a quick read and for me anyway, did not lag. Michele, you knocked it out of the ballpark with this novel.
