Synopsis

This is not made for TV. This is the raw, brutal underground of no-holds-barred combat. Inside the cage there is nothing but me and the pain I inflict on those who dare enter. In the cage, I never have to worry about anyone but myself. Yet, when she began standing outside of the cage, everything changed. I was no longer fighting for the money or the glory – I was fighting for her.

Grace Review

When we last left Liam and Tria:

– They were about to witness a fucked up ritual.
– Tria still had her purse of doom. (Attache of Attila the Hun, Luggage of Lucifer, Pooh’s Honey Pouch)
– Liam still struggled to satisfy his moody cock.

What can I tell you about this book?

– We only get a glimpse of the ritual, so you can exhale.
– Tria’s purse really does carry everything, Liam wasn’t exaggerating (at one point she pulls out a pair of shoes).
– Liam’s moody cock does eventually get satisfied.

“Everything about you makes me want you more.”

While the last book seemed to be an introduction to Liam and Tria’s characters, this book definitely was more of an exploration of their relationship as a couple.  They face a number of odd situations and obstacles that, at times, help them grow together, and at other times, add stress for their future.

Together, they take on:

– Krazy Katie, their neighbor (this part actually shows Liam’s tender side)
– Keith, Tria’s douche of an ex
– Liam’s family

“For the first time in a decade, I have a reason to be outside the cage.”

The last group being part of Liam’s big secret.  Liam’s reluctance to want to discuss his past creates tension with the couple.  While it was frustrating how he wouldn’t open up to her, on the brief occasions that is near or comes face to face with his parents, you get a better understanding of how deep his pain runs.  As a doctor mentions during one confrontation with his mom, he may even have PTSD.

While we only get bits and pieces about what happened in the past to him and his family, there’s enough information that you can figure out what happened.

Will history repeat itself?  We’ll have to wait for book 3 to find out, but I can say this book ends on a very sad note.  I’m hoping the peace finally finds Liam in this last installment, which thankfully releases in just a couple weeks (8/25).
