Title: Unsaid (The Manhattanies #3)
Author: Avery Aster @AveryAster
Genre: M/M Romance
Length: 528 pages
Rating: 4 stars

For fans who loved the snarky wit of Will & Grace and the epic love drama found in Brokeback Mountain comes Avery Aster’s new full-length, standalone contemporary M/M romance novel, Unsaid.

Chelsea’s hottie Blake Morgan III has reemerged from a nasty breakup. His marriage was a frigid disaster beyond repair, and he vows to be single—forever. Bruised, but still hot in Prada, he creates his Seven Desires wish list, his sexiest imaginings. Blake soon realizes there’s only one man he may trust to make these uninhibited intentions come to fruition: his best friend Miguel Santana.

Lower East Side multimedia artist extraordinaire Miguel Santana may be known as the cocky Latin stud in the city, but all he’s wanted since college was Blake’s hand in marriage. He was livid when Blake walked down the aisle with the wrong guy. Miguel has his own list titled the Seven Needs, which are quite contrary to Blake’s dirty-boy deeds. They involve serious commitments, which may leave his new-to-the-singles-scene buddy sprinting for the door, destroying any hopes Miguel has for happiness.

Can these two hunks conquer their intimate fears and love one another as only best friends can? Join the star-studded cast in The Manhattanites series and see for yourself!

Michelle's Review

This is book 3 in The Manattanites Series, but before you get all crazy, these are all standalones.  I have read Unscrupulous and Undressed from this series.  This is Blake’s story.  If you have read the other two, you know that he’s the gay best friend of Taddy, Lex, and Vive (as well as Thor who also happens to be gay).

Blake has just come out of his nasty divorce with Diego.  His friends notice that he’s been aloof, so they come up with a plan now that he is back on the market.  Blake doesn’t want the whole relationship thing, he just wants to get his groove on then move on.  He thought he would have his happily ever after with Diego with the house, 2.5 kids, but Diego ruined it all.  His besties Vive and Thor come up with “Blake’s Seven Desires: 1) #1 Face Fucked & Load Swallowed, No problem #2 Pissed On, Really?#3 Rimmed, I’m aroused #4 Fisting, No way!, #5 Tied up, Whipped, Dominated Panting for I, t#6 Menage a Trois,Contemplating. and #7 Topped Raw Yes, please!”  Oh but who can fulfill all of Blake’s desires?

Enter Miguel Santana, he’s the next up and coming Salvador Dali in the art world.  He also happens to be Blake’s best friend.  They’ve known each other since college.  Miguel (or Mig as his friends like calling him) has always had a severe crush on Blake, he should have been the one to catch Blake’s eye those many years ago in school, but instead, Diego cock blocked him.  After Blake married Diego, Miguel stayed away from Blake those 8 years he was married to Diego.  When Miguel learns of Blake Seven Desires, he is more than willing to help with the task at hand.

I must let you know that although this was supposed to be Blake story, somehow it also became Lex’s story too.  I am not going to really focus my review about her little drama, as you will get to read it firsthand. I really wanted the author to concentrate on Blake’s story and hence for my book rating.

Blake and Miguel had extreme chemistry, muy caliente!  Miguel is the ultimate male Dom and Blake (although never having done anything BDSM related) was a pure masochist.  You will see that although Miguel enjoyed dominating Blake, he also took very good care of him.  His love for Blake was so heartwarming, yet you sensed Blake’s trepidation to start any type of relationship.  There was definitely drama involving Diego that’s for sure, and so happy that he is going to go away for a long time.

I appreciate how the author stressed safe sex and the HIV situation.  What I love most, is how close these friendships are, they are in each other’s business, but it come out of love.   As I mentioned earlier in my review, I have read the previous standalones, I just wanted the author just to focus this book on the main characters.  I will continue reading on the series as I really enjoy Ms. Aster’s writing style.  I cannot wait to read Vive’s story, she’s a hot mess lol.

Exciting him all the more, Miguel pushed him against the table. His friend’s actions may have been plain old-fashioned lust, but someone sought him, in the flesh. Not for his monetary assets, but for his ass. “I want my tongue inside your hot mouth.”

He wrapped his right leg around his friend’s tight waist. The warm friendship blanketed them, making 14:him feel desired. He’d never been kissed by anyone but his ex-husband before. This felt different. Real. Mutual.

His buddy tilted his head to the side. Bit by bit, Miguel gazed down over his forehead and finally rested upon his eyes, almost speaking intently, as if saying, I’m going to give you the passion you’ve always wanted. I’ll fill your need.

Miguel brought his tongue to a long-stroked lick over Blake’s bottom lip before plunging into his mouth, deep and hard with a grunting moan.

Breathless as a teenager kissed for the first time, his cock stiffened all over again.

“You’re going to be my niño this week,” he muttered in a thick accent. “All mine.”

Relishing in the forceful kiss, exhilarated in agreement, he forgot the Hell and nightmare he’d been living in and answered, “Yes, I’ll be your boy this week.” Blake wondered how he’d ever be able to walk away from him once the lists were completed. Would they be able to go back to being best friends?

More importantly, if he told Miguel the truth, could he keep it a secret?
