Michelle's Review

If a blurb (or synopsis) catches my eye, I will read the book, I do not rely too much on other reviews because let’s face it, we all like different types of reads.  So when I saw the blurb for this book, I was definitely interested, what I didn’t expect was that the POV was from the most intimate parts of the male and female anatomy.  Yes, you read correctly, from the male’s penis and the woman’s vagina.  Some readers may not get it, but I love a good challenge and I love to laugh when I’m reading a book.  This one had me in stitches for most of the time.

The female heroine is Alexis Ryan, she’s shy, quiet and works in advertising.  She hasn’t had a relationship since breaking up with “Mr. Confidence Smasher”.  She’s paired off with “Mr. Uptight”, Lane Anderson from another advertising company, the reason for the nickname, well whenever she smiles over his way, he’s always scowling at her.  Well now these two have to work together on a major advertising campaign.  Alexis reminds Lane of his ex “The Queen Bitch” hence him being such a douche with her at the beginning.

As I mentioned in the beginning, the POV is from Alexis’ (Hot Lips) vagina and Lane’s Penis (Eight Seconds), yeah, when you read, you’ll get the nicknames.  Some readers may not get the format of the book, but don’t give up on it, there was plenty of giggles throughout my read.  For instance, when Eight Seconds is really pissed off with Lane and how he’s treating Alexis “Ahh fuck, you know mate, you’re being a right dickhead at the moment and that’s coming from me, your dick.”  Or when Eight Seconds knows that Lane wants to give himself some self love “Up ya get, time for work, nope, no play time.  You don’t’ deserve it, yet.  So up you get, I told you yesterday I wasn’t rising for anything, least of all a bit of self-love.  Phone’s ringing dickhead, you going to get that?”  Oh but Hot Lips didn’t hold back the funny either there was an a one night stand with a guy with a beard and Hot Lips wanted some beard love, but not in the expense of pap rash lol, I loved the “Captain Porcupinenickname for that dude.

Eight Seconds and Hot Lips know that there is some serious chemistry, so these two intimate parts work together trying to get their humans to get together.  There is a stalker involved in the story, and Lane has become Mr. Hero.  Lane and Alexis cannot deny their mutual attraction, but Alexis wants to keep things professional, which I can get.  There was just so much unnecessary drama and lack of communication between these two at times I was screaming at my IPad.

This is my first time reading something from Tania and Ricky Cooper (no, they are not married nor are they related).  If you’re looking for a different type of rom/com then this is the book for you.  Again, it’s a little different type of POV which I totally got.  And I as I also mentioned, I laughed a lot, but when things got a little weird between Lane and Alexis, it just pissed me off lol.
