1. Don’t sleep around.
2. Don’t kiss and tell.
3. Be nice.
4. Don’t text or call.
5. Don’t fall in love.
The rules are simple…until they aren’t.I have everything I ever thought I could want: a nice home, a job I love, two beautiful girls, and my husband, Gabe – my high school sweetheart who still rocks my world. If you ask anyone to describe me they would say, “Oh, Mirella? She’s such a nice girl.” And I was…until a mysterious, peculiar man and his beautiful wife enter our lives.Weston and Bridget Hanson are no ordinary couple—they’re stunning, enigmatic, and sexy as hell. During the course of one unexpected evening, my ordinary world is turned upside down. How could it not be when Weston and Bridget propose the unthinkable? And when the unthinkable is so very tempting, giving in becomes inevitable.

It sounds so logical and simple. Just five rules and we can all have what we desire. But the heart doesn’t follow rules, and now passion, jealousy, and confusion threaten to tear everything apart.

Two beautiful couples. Five simple rules. One hot mess.

Michelle's Review

If you as a reader, like myself, you have to read the synopsis of a book to capture your interest.  As you may all know by now, if your follow the blog, I read a lot of romance, but add a little taboo into the mix and you will have an avid reader in me.  This baby right here was a different type of taboo, couple swapping.  Yes, you read correctly, but let me give you a little in sight this book.

Mirella and Gabe married couple with two beautiful girls, they were high school sweethearts.  She’s a Kindergarten teacher and he sells beautiful hand crafted furniture.  They are a very happily married couple and still have enough hot sex with each other.  Gabe and Mirella decide to have a date night without the kids.  Tickets to a show and a dinner at a fancy restaurant.  Enter “Ken and Barbie” as Mirella liked calling them, while the restaurant screws up their reservation, this hot couple decides to ask to join them at their table.  “Ken and Barbie” are actually Weston and Bridget.  Bridget is tall, classically beautiful and very flirtatious.  On the other side of spectrum, Weston, comes off very brooding and standoffish with some OCD tendencies.  Mirella can’t help to be utterly intrigued with this quiet man.  I mean the man exudes sex appeal very the instant Mirella saw Weston.  While Bridget and Gabe are intensely flirting, while Weston just observes Mirella and makes some pointed observations about her that had Mirella questioning how can someone like him see right through her.

Well things gets pretty interesting for these couples.  Mirella and Gabe thought they wouldn’t ever see the hot couple ever again, until a beautiful arrangement of flowers arrive at Mirella’s work with an invitation to meet with Weston and Bridget.  Well, let the indecent proposal begin!  Weston and Bridget have an open relationship and would love to partake in the spouse swapping, but they all must keep five simple rules:

1. Don’t sleep around.

2. Don’t kiss and tell.

3. Be nice.

4 Don’t text or call.

5. Don’t fall in love.

The rules were simple…until they weren’t.

Now before you get your panties all in a bunch, is it cheating if all the adults are consenting?  Ponder that for a moment.  The story is told in Mirella’s POV and you sense that she is not only loving the sex with Weston, but her emotions come into play big time, breaking rule number 5.  I mean even Weston was breaking some of the rules himself.  And as uptight Weston can be in certain situations, I was seeing Mirella breaking some of his resolve.

I did not want to put this book down and as you guessed it, it does in a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers.  I cannot wait to dive into The Ground Rules Rewritten because there is so many unanswered questions with these couples.  I am curious to see if the author will write from the others POV.  This book is very intense and it had its angst.  I am curious to see what book 2 has in store for me.
