When a psychic tells Natalie Nixon her life is about to be upended by a mysterious stranger, she laughs it off. After all, she has everything she’s ever wanted—a successful bakery, the perfect boyfriend, and the keys to her dream house.Who could possibly make her want to throw all that away? Then Miles Haas comes back to town.

But he’s no stranger—they’ve known each other since high school. Plus, he’s only around for the summer, he’s still a shameless playboy, and he makes a living writing articles for a men’s magazine with titles like ‘Should You Bang the Boss’s Daughter? A Flowchart’ and ‘Butt Stuff for Beginners: A Field Guide.’

He’s not the man of her dreams, and she’s not about to abandon everything she’s worked so hard for just for a little fun. Except he makes her laugh like no one else, smells like heaven, and wears panty-melting glasses.

The plot of friends to lovers is hardly an original theme, yet the author adds her unique sense of humor, and some seriously sexy times, to make this story fresh.

If you read book one, then you remember Natalie, Skylar’s sister and owner of Coffee Darling.  You may also remember that her boyfriend, Dan, and her are not the ideal couple.  (Side note: this book can be treated as a standalone, so don’t worry if you didn’t read book 1).  In this story, it doesn’t take long before it is clear that Dan is not ideal in any way.  He’s boring and his intentions are suspect.  But for some reason, Natalie ignores warning signs in her relationship, so focused on their upcoming engagement.  You read that right.  She is simply waiting for Dan to propose.

Things don’t go as planned for her and Dan, but thankfully there is Miles, her long-time friend who just happens to be a sex blogger.  Oh yes, the man dolls out advice based on his own amorous activities.

“I’ll always share my pork with you, Natalie,” he said tenderly. “I’ll even let you pull it.”

Miles prove to be the best kind of distraction as Natalie’s planned future falls apart.  I’ve read most of this author’s books, but I found this to be one of the hottest.  Being with Miles seems to encourage Natalie to take explore a wilder side.

It was more powerful, more potent, more euphoric than any orgasm I’d ever experienced.  It was a moregasm, and I never wanted it to end.

While there is no doubt that this couple has an intense sexual chemistry, where does that take them?  Miles seems happy to be the single fun bachelor, and he puts his foot in his mouth often where this is concerned.  Natalie wants marriage and a family.  Polar opposites in terms of future goals.

But then, everything with us was always almost.
I almost lost control when she pinched my nipple.
I almost aked to fuck her without a condom.
I almost told her I loved her when it was over.

For most of the book I LOVED Miles.  That is until he gets confused by his own changing feelings and says some really stupid things.  Even a friend wouldn’t say or do what he does.  No bueno. And I liked how Natalie doesn’t forgive him quickly.

The only thing I wasn’t sure about in the story was Miles’ change (yes, I’m being vague).  I cringe that I’m saying this, but I would have liked for things to be drawn out more, maybe more angst.  But I can’t complain too much since what happens would be every girl’s dream.

The author leaves us with two happy sisters, and one lonely one.  You know what that means  . . . I can’t wait for Jillian’s story.
