Confessions of a Bad Boy Episode 1: Never Commit

I’m the internet’s favorite Bad Boy – the guy who’ll tell it to you straight. No bullshit charm. No excuses. Consider it a public service, letting women know the truth about what guys are really thinking and teaching guys how to get what they want.

Yes, we were checking that girl out.

No, you don’t want to meet her parents.

And no, ladies, we don’t care what shoes you wear – as long as they’re up around our neck by the end of the night.

Life was simple, until fate brought me back together with Jessie.

My best friend’s younger sister, who I just happened to have the hottest one night stand of my life with four years ago.

Who calls me at 3 AM to get bailed out of jail.

Who I can’t keep my hands off of.

And who can never find out who I really am.

She’s off-limits, but I don’t care. And when I need a fake girlfriend to help me out of a jam at work, she’s the only one who can help. Now I’m stuck sharing a hotel room with her for the weekend.

A long, sexy weekend.

This is your Bad Boy, signing off.

Michelle's Review

J.D. Hawkins has written us a standalone ladies and gentlemen, and he did not disappoint.  I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with this book with a title like the one above.  Nate is that bad boy your mother always told you about to stay away from.  But, Nate is the type of bad boy that doesn’t give you illusions of grandeur.  He lets you know from the jump, it’s just sex and a good time and he keeps it moving.  Now you may be wondering where these confessions of his take place.

Well before I tell you, he is a talent agent and working his way up in the company.  He has a knack for seeking out talent and getting them premier acting jobs.  Going back to these “confessions”, him and his childhood best friend Kyle are man whores.  Kyle wanted to do a vlog on the hookups and the like, but his time as an attorney didn’t give him a chance, so Nate took it upon himself, having daily posts of his conquests and what women enjoy in the bedroom.  Of course, he never shows his face during these confessions.

Enter Jessie.  She’s Kyle’s little sister.  She grew up with the ultimate crush on Nate.  She is trying to get by and make a name for herself as a costumer, but the show she’s is working, isn’t one that can move her to the next level, especially since they keep treating her like the hired help.  Kyle hates all her boyfriends, add to the fact that he has anger management issues, no one is ever good enough for his baby sister.  Until Jessie gets into a bit of a pickle and needs Nate to bail her out of jail.  You know that bro-code situation wherein, you don’t mess with your friend’s ex-girlfriend, let alone their baby sister?  Yeah, that didn’t happen with this scenario.

After helping Jessie out, Nate needs her to play along as his “fiancée” for a work thing.  Hmm could anything go wrong with this scenario especially since something very interesting happened with them a few months ago, which by the way, they promised to never discuss?  Sexual attraction and chemistry was key here ladies and gentlemen.  What started off as an “it’s only sex” situation, turned out to be a little more than they both would want to admit.

I am going to confess, that I was not a big fan of Nate, but he redeemed himself.  I do understand his issue being in a relationship in general.  I was a fan of Jessie from the very beginning.  She is not here to impress anyone, she is a unique beautiful woman.  She just needs to weed out the morons that she dates.  So can Jessie redeem this “bad boy” into a good boy?  Will Kyle ever kick Nate’s ass for dating his little sister when he finds out?  Well you must read the book to get your answers.

J.D. Hawkins writing style is unique and holds nothing back.  I loved that this was a standalone.  Not bad Mr. Hawkins, not bad.  Add Confessions of a Bad Boy to your TBR.
