They call me a slut. Maybe I am.
Sometimes I do things I despise.
Sometimes men take without asking.

But I have a musical gift, only a year left of high school, and a plan.
With one obstacle.

Emeric Marceaux doesn’t just take.
He seizes my willpower and bangs it like a dark note.
When he commands me to play, I want to give him everything.
I kneel for his punishments, tremble for his touch, and risk it all for our stolen moments.

He’s my obsession, my master, my music.
And my teacher.

Adult 18+ only
Genre: Dark student teacher romance

YaYa's Review

He fills so many voids in my life, and my desire for him only knits me closer, tighter to a world I’ve only dreamed about. A world where I interact with a man because I want to, because he cares about me as much as I care about him.

Ivory Westbrook. Young, talented, fighter, tainted. Not all young lives who attend one of the best schools in town come from the best of families. Rich, loving. For Ivory the reason she attends this school cannot be easily forgotten. She’s reminded daily of it by a mother who only cares for her flavor of the month and drugs and a brother who is too blind and selfish to see it all. The only two people left in her life are also the cause of her burdens. At 17 she has to take on the responsibilities of paying the house bills and her personal belongings in order to pursue her dreams. But what are dreams when you are constantly living a nightmare. Her escape, one talent no one can take from her, the piano. The one thing she counts on to help her escape. Play her little heart out of that God forsaken town and life she does not deserve.

Emeric Marceaux. 27 year old music teacher who just transferred to the school Ivory attends after the Dean proposes an offer he can’t resist. He was also forced out of his last school and rumors are spreading like fire. Are they true and if so how is he still allowed to teach? He’s not your average looking teacher, the girls say he is too beautiful, the staff can barely resist him and Ivory thinks he looks like a model. Coming from old money and learning at an early age what he wanted in life, let’s just say he has a few tricks up his sleeves.

As her teacher, she’s my responsibility. To nurture. To protect.

Brought together by music soon they learn there’s more than notes that keep them together. A chemistry infused in the the dark but most powerful when out in the light. Through music they learn who each other are and what they both need.

It’s a beautiful story, but to me it lacked more passion. I wanted more love through this music, exploring what kept them together besides sex. It became more about wanting and taking and less of what I expected the story to be concentrated on. One subject in particular, it terrified her, but the Hero had the power to change it. Erase that memory like he did other times. Also, Lorenzo, I’m still stuck on that. They got away with it? What happened to Joanne? Where were the “WTF” moments? Plenty of plot twists to leave us with our mouths opened and throw in some loops. Everything was just way to easy.

Overall, an enjoyable read. Some strong subject. Easy flow unlike other taboos I’ve read. Still quite the fan of Pam Goodwin.
