The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn’t know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it’s with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she’d marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he’s all wrong-maybe it’s time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what’s wrong with getting dirty?

Michelle's Review

Ok I’m going to say it and please don’t yell at me because Grace and Ivy already yelled at me for this, but this is my first Kylie Scott book (runs in shame).  After I posted on Goodreads that this was my first Kylie Scott book, my two co-bloggers ripped me a new one and how I have NOT read the Stage Dive series.  I mean come one, it has a hot tatted guy on the cover!  Here’s a little secret, I LIKE some tats on a guy, not too many, but if he’s hot, I can forgive him for having more than one.  Okay, moving on to my review.

It was supposed to be Lydia’s happy day, she’s finally getting married to Chris, until she receives an anonymous video text of her soon-to-be husband getting it on with his best man.  Yeah, not a great way to start wedded bliss.  Lydia is fuming to say the least, so she does what any sane bride would do (that’s sarcasm), she runs the hell out of her bridal suite.  She’s like a crazy ninja running across the lawn in her wedding dress, going over a 6 foot fence, face plants on the ground, finds an open window in a home, and climbs up said window into a bathroom.  What can go wrong with the scenario, right?  Having a mini meltdown, the owner of said bathroom wakes up, hears some crying and opens up the curtain to find a runaway bride in his tub.  Did I mention he was naked?  The sexy tatted naked man is Vaughn, and he’s trying to figure out why there is a woman in his bathtub, in a wedding dress crying her eyes out.

Vaughn is back in his hometown after leaving so many years ago to pursue his singing career only to come back home with his tail between his legs because the band broke up.  Now he has to deal with a runaway bride and all the drama that ensues.  Can I mention what assholes her fiancé’s parents were, even her parents for not showing up to her wedding.  Poor Lydia, but throughout the drama, Vaughn and her became fast friends, and even became biblical, if you know what I mean “Deal with it.  If you hadn’t gotten involved in the fight we could be getting biblical.”

This book had a lot of humor, which I loved.  I loved how even though Vaughn was away from the town for so many years, the friendships and loyalty was still there albeit at times there was some knock down fights amongst them.  I adored Vaughn’s sister, Nell.  I’m curious if the writer will be writing her book next.  Lydia had to make a decision soon about staying or leaving town.  She already knew that Vaughn’s intention was to go back out to LA and continue his music.  Ah but when that thing call love comes to play, will Lydia’s heart get broken again?

Needless to say, I have added Ms. Scott’s Stage Dive series to my ever ending TBR list.  I loved her storytelling and most of all her humor.  If you’re a fan of Kylie Scott, then you will really enjoy Dirty in all its Dirty glory.
