Matt Taylor’s motto:
“I’m the king of the cut ‘n’ run. I wine them, dine them, then slide inside them, making sure I get up, get dressed and get out before they can even utter the words “second date.”

Mia Roberts’ motto:
“I’m queen of the chase. I meet them, greet them, date them and leave them. A social butterfly, I’m happily single and happy to stay that way.”

The players have been found.

The challenge has been set.

Whatever happens, they’ll soon find out that playing the game can get you played in the best possible way.

This is my first B.J. Harvey book and will not be my last.  B.J. Harvey is seriously funny on Facebook so when she offered me the chance to read Game Player (Game #1), I was all in.  So while I was on vacation, I made sure to read the Game Series and this is my first review with the rest to follow.  This is book one in the Game Series and if you read Ms. Harvey’s Bliss series, some of the characters do make an appearance.

Mia Roberts is the serial dater and is happy staying single with no strings attached.  Matt Taylor, he is the known player, he loves wining and dining his conquests, but the next day, he out the door, that is until he and Mia hook up. You see Mia is Zoe’s middle sister and Matt is Noah’s younger brother.  If you read Finding Bliss, you have already met Zoe and Noah.  BTW, I am so adding the Bliss Series to my TBR.  Also, Zander, who is Mia’s older brother is also mentioned in the book, all the characters from the Bliss Series are mentioned.

Mia and Matt hook up during Zoe and Noah’s wedding and boy was it hot.  Moving forward almost a year later, Mia help Matt out when a “bunny boiler” tries to hit on him.  Before I continue, I had to ask the author if “bunny boiler” was a reference to Fatal Attraction, but it is not lol.  Moving on, there is some deep attraction between Mia and Matt, but Mia knows that Matt is a playboy that will not change his ways, and if Noah was known as the Walking Dildo, then Matt is the mini version of said phallic toy.  What was great to see though, that Matt is really into Mia and he is all in.  Besides trying to woo Mia, he wants his father to take him seriously in the family business.

Mia and Matt have so much chemistry and the banter was hilarious, but Ms. Mia has some serious jealousy issues and holds a lot of her emotions inside.  She kind of frustrated me, especially when Mat wanted their relationship to be out in the open.  Matt won me over pretty quickly, I could tell he was smitten with Mia, but Mia was holding back, hence my frustrations.  Although I understand why she was so unsure, I just wanted her to open her eyes.  I really want to read the Bliss Series and meet the characters in that book, that’s for sure.  We get an HEA and I cannot wait for you to read my review of Game Maker.
