1. What is one thing about you that would surprise us?
No one on the planet was more surprised than me when E.L. James was kind enough to give me and my husband an acknowledgement in Fifty Shades Darker.

“Thanks to Morgan and Jenn for all things Heathman.”

I’m Jenn!

2. What would an ideal day be for you?
I love any opportunity to travel, so my ideal days are spent exploring a place I’ve never been to before. There are a lot of those left in the world, but I’d probably begin in Oslo. It has been on my bucket list since I was a teen and it keeps eluding me. When I finally get there, I’m going to see as much of it as I can.

3. What is your favorite curse word?
Fuck. But I’m a bit of an introvert, so I’m a big fan of raising the middle finger.

4. What is your favorite movie?
That’s a tough one. I was a huge fan of Star Wars growing up, so I was very happy to see The Force Awakens this year. I also have a sentimental soft spot for the Twilight movies.  There are plenty of films I can watch over and over again, but 9 to 5 and Tootsie come to mind as I’m typing this. Both are timeless and intelligent comedies.

5. What is your favorite indulgence?
High heel shoes. I’m getting closer and closer to purchasing a pair of Louboutins.

6. What profession would you not like to do?
Professional public speaker. The mere idea terrifies me. I’m more comfortable with quiet one-on-one conversation.

7. Who is your celebrity crush?
My celebrity crushes are few and far between, but after many years I recognized that I have a certain type.  Brunette British men catch my attention more than any other.  In my younger days, it was Ben Chaplin and Ioan Gruffudd. My most recent celebrity crush was David Gandy. And even though Daniel Craig is blonde, I will admit that he can hold my attention for significant periods of time.

8. What is your FB relationship status (single, married, it’s complicated)?
Married – to my high school sweetheart, Morgan. I met my soul mate when I was 15 and never let him go.

9. What is your biggest phobia?
I developed a fear of heights as a child. Someone played a mean trick on me when I was six or seven, making me believe they were going to fall from the top of a very high structure. The act terrified me and whenever I’m up high above the ground, that moment still disturbs me.

10. What are your favorite foods?
For breakfast, I love French toast and bacon but rarely indulge. My favorite lunch spot has a phenomenal fresh green salad with a ginger lemon vinaigrette dressing. For dinner, I love it when my husband grills up an excellent steak. And for dessert, I am the ultimate cheesecake junkie.

11. What are you least favorite foods.
I have a deadly peanut allergy, so any food with nuts or peanut butter needs to stay the way hell away from me.

12. You are at a concert, who are you with and who are you seeing?
Actually, I was at this concert in 2010.  My husband, my best childhood girlfriend and I traveled to Los Angeles to see a-ha play at Club Nokia. That night was 25 years in the making. I’ve been a huge fan of the band since the very beginning. Take On Me was just the first single in a fantastic career for those Norwegians!

13. What is your favorite quote?
“Don’t believe everything you think.”

14. What is your all-time favorite book?
Since I’m a founding moderator of Argyle Empire, no one will be surprised to hear how much I adore anything written by Sylvain Reynard, and it all began with Gabriel’s Inferno. I’ve been a reader my entire life, but SR is the first author I’ve fangirled over in such a public way.

15. If you could hang out one day with your favorite writer, who would it be and what would you do?
Someone asked me this question on a podcast a few weeks ago. It would have to be Sylvain Reynard and, in the highly unlikely event that SR ever agreed to spend a day with me, we would do whatever SR wants to do. No arguments from me.

16. Out of your male characters in your books who would you marry, kill, fuck?
Marry – Jack Evans (you’ll meet him soon in Constellation)
Fuck – Sly (because I’m pretty sure he is Daniel Craig’s doppelganger)
Kill – Kyle Petersen (because he reminds me of Tom Cruise)

17. Out of your female characters in your books who would you marry, kill, fuck?
Marry  – Shaunna Noble (because she’s loyal)
Fuck – Michelle Cooper (because she’s a hot movie star)
Kill – Valerie Manchester (because she’s the only female character I’ve written that I don’t like. But we aren’t supposed to like her, so I did my job there)

18. What word or words do you like to read in a book (can pertain to describing anything or just in general)?
Whenever a male character appears wearing a “white dress shirt”, I’ve died and gone to reader heaven.

19. What word or words do you not like to read in a book (can pertain to describing anything or just in general)?
Stupid. I never allow my children to use that word, and even in fiction I hate when that word is used to mark a character.

20. Who is your favorite Star Wars character?
Princess Leia Organa. I was a little girl when the original trilogy was released and her strength and independence were so important to my generation. She was a female leader in the true sense of the word – she made girls like me believe I could grow up and be anything I wanted to.

THANKS JENNIFER!
