I find the love letters in my new dorm room, left behind by a previous occupant.  They’re meant for someone else, but the words speak to me. They slide off the page and wrap themselves around my body, touching me in places I never knew existed.I’m falling in love with each word, unable to stop myself.

And I don’t even know his name.

Until they tell me.

His name is Judson Devereux. They say he’s toxic. Falling for him will be a mistake.

I want to believe them. I want to walk away. But the words refuse to be erased from the invisible parts of me.

I’m hooked on the scent of his poison. It’s bad for me. It could kill me. But I’m in too deep.

*This series contains sexual content, dark themes, and violence that could trigger emotional distress in readers.*

*Amour Toxique is a serial that unfolds over three volumes.*

This is the story of a woman trapped by the life only her mother wanted, who escapes to a world of fantasy.

It all begins with some private letters.
Which leads to intrigue.
And later communication with the sender.

Are we to trust Judson Devereux?  By all accounts, no.
He’s obsessive.
He’s dangerous.
He’s a murderer.  Maybe.

Despite all those questionable qualities, Ivy can’t stop thinking about him.

He fills my dreams and my reality.  He could be dangerous, but he’s my comfort zone.  He could be poisonous, but he’s my elixir.

Against common sense, Ivy begins to be drawn in by the words of this mystery man.  I’m not sure why she was so easy to manipulate.  Maybe it was her upbringing.  Maybe it was been left alone for the first time which brought out her vulnerability.  Whatever the case, Judson is quite the puppeteer with her.  While reading this, I kept thinking of the women that fall in love with serial killers will their serve their life sentence.  Ivy is just as fooled as they seem to be.

Everything Judson says raised warning alarms for me, so the ending wasn’t shocking at all.  How the story will play out, is what truly remains to be seen.  I’m expecting the crazy to turn up a notch in the next book – yes, this one has a cliffy.
