Synopsis

I’m naturally gifted on the field and between the sheets. With flashy cars and enough media attention to put the Royal Family to shame, I’m the definition of Most Eligible Bachelor.

I’ve never met a man who doesn’t want to be me or a woman who doesn’t want to tame me. Until I meet Camila.

From the moment I lay eyes on her, I know I have to have her.

She wants to keep me at arm’s length.
I want her naked in my bed.

She thinks our worlds are too different.

All I want her to think about is screaming my name.

She says I’m bad news.

I have three weeks to prove her wrong.

Grace Review
How do you tame a player?
You standout.
Offer a refreshing change.
Show them life from a new lens.
And that’s what Camilla does for Warren.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, this book caught your attention, like mine, when Claire revealed the cover and nearly broke the internet.  I mean, DAY-UM!!   And thankfully, this was a well-chosen model, as he does perfectly fit the description of Warren in this story.  If I didn’t know the story already about selecting the cover, I would have thought she wrote the book around the cover.

But enough about that delicious cover.

There’s an instalust theme in this story, but that doesn’t mean sparks fly quickly,  In fact, Warren has to nearly stalk and beg Camilla just to get a date.  She’s not the normal girl he falls for, in that, well, she’s normal.  She’s not rich, and doesn’t care about his wealth and fame.  She is grounded with strong morals and the desire to help her community.  So as far as heroines go, I liked her.

There was something about her presence that made me feel I was where I was supposed to be.

If you didn’t already know, I believe Claire has a knack for writing some of the best book boyfriends.  Now, I wouldn’t go so far as to say Warren replaced Cole’s spot on my list, but he definitely has a lot of good qualities that will resonate with romance readers.

Here are just some of those qualities:
Perseverance in his chase for Camilla
A good heart – stepping in to help Camilla and her neighbors find new housing
Commitment to his sport – Camilla clouds this a bit, but the love never dies for what he does
And a bonus, he’s friends with Jay Z!

“I’m physically aching for you, Camilla.”

There was only one thing that is a negative about him, but I won’t spoil it.

I wasn’t shocked by the twist, I had some suspicions early on.  However, he’s lack of honesty was not a good move.  On the flip side, I personally think Camilla overreacted.  She made it a lot bigger than it needed to be.  And that’s my only criticism of the book.  I think this small twist was overblown and a bigger twist could have been presented for a stronger adrenaline rush.  Overall, the book is steady and I wanted more of a heart racing moment, but that’s just me.

She wasn’t my New York girl.  She was my game changer.

If you are looking for a new sport romance with two people from different sides of the tracks finding a common ground in love, then give this one a shot.
