Synopsis

Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka His Royal Hotness, is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant; hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.

Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.

Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.

Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.

There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces, and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately, the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.

But to Olivia, Nicholas is worth it.

Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King… or the man who gets to love Olivia forever.
Grace Review

Infamy is temporary, celebrity is fleeting, but royalty . . . royalty is forever.

Fact: If Emma Chase writes a book, I will 1-click it.
Why?
Because she has never let me down.

Sure, Tangled will always be one of her best books.  However, she has built on the success of that story and cemented her place within romance as one of the best authors with the male POV.  On top of that, her books have a light fun feel about them that I think every reader needs once in a while.

Although Nicholas can’t top my BFF, Jake from Sustained, he definitely caught my attention and made me stake claim over our greedy Shortie, Michelle. LOL!  What was it about him that really made me pay attention?

I want Olivia.  In my bed, on my cock, over my face.  And I want her to know it.

Royal status?
Aggressive pickup lines?
Sexual appeal?
Well, he is all of the above, but it was the scene with the kids that did me in.  Alpha males sharing a sweet moment with kids are my kryptonite.

Anywho, I’m getting off track here.  This story follows the common romance trope of opposites attract.  Nicholas is ridiculously wealthy, living in an estate in his country of Wessco that holds hundreds, yes hundreds, of rooms.  Olivia works in her family coffee shop that is facing closure due to a series of unpaid bills.  But what’s special about this story and added to their differences is Nicholas’ fame, as the sexy royal who enjoys a good time.  Upon visiting New York on family business, he meets Olivia and looks to share that good time with her.  But the results don’t go as planned and like any other Alpha male, takes a greater interest in the chase.

What I really liked about this couple was how when they got together, they truly threw caution to the wind.  Olivia embraces her new adventure with Nicholas as a fun experience, knowing that that time was limited and lacked a true future.  She’s braver than I would be, but I liked how she saw it as a chance to have fun, even if that fun was temporary.  And her enthusiasm with Nicholas is only one of the reasons his interest doesn’t wane.

Although there wasn’t a lot of angst in this book, there’s a timetable for their romance, and with each passing day, I got more nervous for how things would play out.  I liked how the author didn’t give them some magical fairy tale ending, yet at the same time, still made it epic.

Aside for the sweet relationship between Nicholas and Olivia, I loved the cast of side characters, particularly Franny, who was a hilarious sounding board for Olivia through the royal process, and Henry, whose book is next.  Given what Nicholas did to his brother, and his emotional state throughout this book, it should be an interesting read.  Can’t wait!
