When they were only teenagers, Axel and Caxton were caught making out in the woods at church camp. And afterward, Cax had disappeared from all the youth group activities.

Six years later, Axel is astonished to spot his first love’s face in the crowd of a college basketball game he’s watching on TV—at a school which has just offered him a job. It’s a thousand miles away, in a tiny rural town. But suddenly, he can’t wait to get there.

Cax can’t believe his eyes when Axel appears in the same Massachusetts town where he now lives. And he’s still just as drawn to Axel as ever. But he can’t let himself go there again, because loving Axel will mean giving up everything else he holds dear.

Both men have so much to lose. But as far as their love is concerned, it’s Hello Forever.

Hello Forever is a stand-alone novel with no cliffhangers. Readers of Goodbye Paradise will get to check in on Caleb and Josh and their clan.

This second standalone in the Hello Goodbye Series is Axle and Cax’s story. Another m/m gem from Ms. Bowen and a little different from Hello Goodbye but with the same emotional pull.

Axle and Cax met when they were young. They both attended the same church camp as young kids. They immediately gravitated towards each other. As they got a little older, Axle always knew he was attracted to men, when he saw Cax come to camp at the age of 16, he knew he was immediately attracted to his best friend. Let’s just say that attraction, caused a lot of trouble for them both as they both got kicked out of camp.

Moving 10 years later, while trying to weigh the pro and cons on accepting a job at a Liberal Arts sports program in Massachusetts, while watching a basketball clip for their basketball team, he seems Cax in the stands and upon further review, he knows it’s the friend he kissed back in camp and had always wondered what happened to him. Let’s just say, the decision for him to take the job was immediately made.

Cax is trying to finish his graduate studies while trying to stay close to his three younger brothers and dealing with his homophobic father. While he’s trying to play it “straight,” he is both shocked and somewhat excited to see Axle again. He’s trying so hard to maintain his distance, yet you know that saying, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Sarina Bowen can do no wrong when she writes m/m. She gives us dueling POV and a story that will stick with you. My heart was hurting for Cax, trying to hide in the closet so his father wouldn’t prevent him from seeing his brothers, was no easy feat. I loved how patient and understanding Axle was with Cax even though, he truly wanted to be with him. Ms. Bowen knows how to pull at our heartstrings that’s for sure. I am a huge fan of Sarina Bowen as she never disappoints with a compelling story. I love second chance stories and Axle and Cax deserves a second chance.
