No last names. No life stories. Those were the rules.

Once upon a time a cocky, copper-haired tourist sauntered into Zara’s bar. And even though she knew better, Zara indulged in a cure for the small-town blues. It was supposed to be an uncomplicated fling—a few sizzling weeks before he went back to his life, and she moved on.

Until an accidental pregnancy changed her life.

Two years later, she’s made peace with the notion that Dave No-Last-Name will never be found. Until one summer day when he walks into her coffee shop, leveling her with the same hot smile that always renders her defenseless.

Dave Beringer has never forgotten the intense month he spent with prickly Zara. Their nights together were the first true intimacy he’d ever experienced. But the discovery of his child is the shock of a lifetime, and his ugly past puts relationships and family out of reach.

Or does it? Vermont’s countryside has a way of nurturing even tortured souls. The fields and the orchards—and hard won love—are Bountiful.

Bountiful is book 4 in the True North series, and yes, can be read as a standalone, but like with any series I have read, I always suggest to my followers to catch up and read the others as well. For those of you who have read the other books in the series, this is Zara’s and Dave’s story. Also, noteworthy, Ms. Bowen hero, Dave is a hockey player from the Brooklyn Bruisers. If you are a fan of Sarina Bowen, you know she has a hockey series featuring some players from the Brooklyn Bruisers. So I loved that she wrote a crossover book. Ok enough of my spiel, let’s get to my review.

Zara tends bar and is the “good time girl” around Vermont, but she’s feisty! Enter the handsome ginger, over six feet tall, who has been hanging out at the bar she manages for her uncle. Let’s say their flirt game is strong. Dave is only in Vermont for six weeks and he’s hot for the spicy bartender, not his usual type in a woman, but something about Zara gets his mojo running. So for the next six weeks, they have a no strings sexathon. No questions, just get each other off. Little did Dave know after his six weeks, he left a something a lot bigger than his ahem, member, if you know what I mean.

Moving almost two years, Zara no longer runs The Goat, and is now co-owner of a bakery with Audrey (if you read Bittersweet, you know who she is). She’s also mommy to her beautiful daughter Nicole. Oh did I mention Zara has overprotective and overbearing brothers? Well not her twin, he’s cool. Zara can never forget her time with Dave, it’s splashed all over her sweet girl. The shocking red hair is a dead giveaway. She never told her friends or family who her baby daddy was because she felt he needed to know first and since, they never shared any personal things about each other but their names (and body), she never did find him. That is until almost two years later, he decided he come back to Vermont.

Let’s just say Dave is not only shocked that Zara no longer at the bar, but the bomb she drops on him. He certainly cannot deny Nicole is his daughter. Although Dave was quite nervous around Nicole, he became pretty hands on with her and who doesn’t love seeing a dad with their daughter, ovary explosion. Yet, he still feels a pull towards Zara. Zara, well she’s trying to protect her heart and that of Nicole’s.
You know, I could go on and on about this book. Sarina Bowen just have a way with words her story that immediately pulls you in. Like many readers, I couldn’t wait to hear Zara’s story and the fact that the author added a hero from another series, a plus in my book. I’ve mentioned this many times, but Sarina Bowen can do no wrong. Her writing is stellar. So head back to Vermont and hangout with Zara and Dave.
