Giving Thanks Giveaway

It has been said more than once, that people often turn to reading as an escape from life and the stress they face daily. Some days are harder than most. Each reviewer for this blog has had personal tragedies impact them, and what we love about this book community is how supportive we can be for others in their time of need.

So this Thanksgiving, we wanted to show our support for several charities that have a mission we fully support, and in some cases, have a personal connection to their cause.

Each reviewer of the blog has chosen a charity to promote. For each donation you make to one of the following charities, you will be entered to win one of the signed paperbacks listed below. So, if you make a donation to all seven charities, you will have SEVEN chances to win. To enter, merely post a screenshot of your contribution to the charity (on the pinned post located on our FB blog page -https://www.facebook.com/AftDarkBkLovers/posts/886270504883398 ), and tag the After Dark reviewer whose charity you donated to.

So, without further adieu, here are the charities the Shorties selected:

Taboo Reads

One of our favorite genres within romance are taboo reads.  Socially prohibited, improper and unacceptable – BRING IT!!!  This is far from a complete list, but can be used as a starting point if you are looking to venture into this territory.  Since some books touch on multiple taboos, at the bottom of the post is a coding for each taboo.

Important note: We actually began working on this post weeks ago, well before the drama of this week.   Some books are on the lighter side of taboo (The Education of Sebastion), while books in the Illicit/Family Relations category are more on the extreme side and not for everyone.  Take this list for what it is, we are here to cater to everyone’s needs.

2017 Shorties Mid-Year Awards

It’s the time of year again. . . . when the Shorties are forced to narrow down their list of amazing reads for the first half of 2017.  With so many great releases, that wasn’t an easy task, but as you can see from our picks, these are worthy of their status.

If you haven’t read some of these reviewer picks, you may just find your next favorite book!
